New York City & The Paris House, Cocktails, Fashion and Holiday fun

December 20th, 2010

DSCN6998When you walk through my door, especially if you come in the back door as my friends always do, you will walk right smack into a cocktail.  I believe that is the best way to get a party started.  And of course you have to have lots of yummy food to help your guests absorb all the alcohol.  Your friends will be relaxed and in the party mood.  We of course always have lots of non-alchoholic beverages for all to enjoy too! The iPod is always on, the  fire is blazing in the fireplace and lots of food is out on the table.  It can be big or small, easy or elaborate but no matter what it is always fun!

I’m betting most of you are busy as can be with holiday parties, baking, school events, entertaining, gift wrapping, fun family outings and much more!  Our weekend was non- stop -fun..parties, happy hours, annual Christmas party at the neighbors, tequila at ‘D’s”, Sunday Football&Holiday fun at The Paris House, Church And a fabulous unforgettable Saturday spent all day and night in Manhattan. Lunch and shopping downtown, finding fabulous modern chic glassware and pottery at ABC Carpet & Home, Gifts from Kate Spade, a yummy Hungarian dessert shoppe , The tree, ice skaters, more food, fashion, windows at Barneys and shopping for gifts at Bergdorf Goodman and popping into the Plaza.  It was a magical day indeed.  I stocked up on Paul & Joe nail polish and am giving them out in bunches to the girls this year. The city was magical and I love being there so much.

recipe for tart: roll out a thawed sheet of puff pastry cut in half lengthwise, make a 1 inch border around the edges.  then pile on thinly sliced tomatoes, feta cheese, sea salt, pepper, some sprigs of thyme and about 1T of chopped oregano.  Bake in a 400 degree oven until puffy and golden.  easy as can be! I am all about the quick effortless entertaining.

Guess what, I went to ABC too. I ate at the ABC kitchen and I remember looking at the very same chandeliers. In fact, I remember talking to the lady there about them. They looked so vintage, but they were all new. Beautifully done.

I do so hope that your son was feeling better by Christmas day! Strep throat is not nice! My son has been sick since spending two days returning from Scotland… he even had to miss Christmas. Merry Christmas Bunny and Oliver…
Sorry I am late in getting over. I have been so busy with getting Country Wings ready for the grands. Now that everything is over and we are on the move again, I wanted to pop over and say hi.

I am sure Santa was good to your Oliver, you are always such a good boy. What did he leave for you under the tree? Please write and let me know.

Bunny, Sam’s photos just keep getting more and more elegant. What a beautiful eye he has for photography. These photos in NYC are so elegant. It has a place I have always dreamed of, but never made it there. Just to far away. Sam brought it to me for Christmas. Please thank him. It is as magical as I always dreamt it would be. Just beautiful.

Bunny I saw the polish and lipsticks. Oh how pretty they are. Love, love, love the colors you chose for your friends. I know they were over the top thrilled. Nothing like a beautiful color of polish to make a gal feel beautiful.

Thank you for sharing the magical Parish House for Christmas. I have so enjoyed my tour today.

I hope to get to come home in the Spring again, so am hoping to see you soon. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry
