Making Boozy Concord Grapes (and a little contest)

Boozy Concord Grapes20108

I saw this delightful recipe for Boozy Concord Grapes in The New York Times recently and thought it would make wonderful homemade gifts this Holiday season for some of my Foodie Friends, and to use around the Paris House.  They took about 5 minutes to make and need about 4 weeks until finished.  I also have the recipe for Spirited Cherries that we gave out last Christmas.  Both are perfect for desserts, crepes, embellishing a cheese platter and putting a couple in the bottom of a champagne flute and topped with a little bubbly at a cocktail party.  I don’t know about you but I would love to receive this elegant edible gift.

Now for the Contest.  If you have any ideas for a fabulous recipe using ‘The Boozy Grapes’ please email them to me and the winner will receive a little surprise from our MOR cosmetics that we carry in our boutique and we will post your recipe!!

♡♡♡ I want to mention a little bit more on Daniel Boulud’s Rib Eye herbed steak recipe I made in the last post, It was super easy and delicious the link is in the post below.  I also want to give you the link to the Bouncy House Cocktails on Facebook as I did not do that last time and Lastly check out my pictures here on Facebook to see how I found a very similar Hunt Jacket to the Anthropologie one that I posted recently.  I always shop my closet first and I was really surprised to find a very close match that I actually like better, check it out and let me know what you think!!

wiHave a Lovely Day, We are off to the Pumpkin Patch after school today then coming home to a delicious quick dinner!

Hi Bunny, I left you a comment, but I think it went on an older post??? Love those beautiful bottles, and I will try to think of a way to use the boozy grapes so I can win! Also, want to see your new jacket, but don’t do facebook. Have a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch!… xoxo Julie Marie

We used to collect concord grapes for my mother…she made the most delicious jam! And I well remember the trips to the pumpkin patch with my kids. So much fun. We’d stop and have cider and donuts at the cider mill…..

Can’t think of a thing boozy to do with the grapes, but after all, they ARE grapes….there must be something!

  3. Boozy Grapes…I love the idea of giving them as a gift. I often serve Drunk Strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar at parties. Thanks for stopping by my post. Come visit any time. Cherry Kay

  4. Hi Michele, these Boozy Grapes sound like a lot of fun, and so easy to make. How savvy of you to already be thinking about the holidays! I might try making small, individual crushed Boozy Grape sundaes from the grapes.

Check out Bobby Flays Crushed Blackberry Sundaes on the Food Network site for some inspiration. I remember making the sundaes for a family get-together and everyone loved them.

    Ciao, bella!

I clicked on the Boozy Grapes recipe — I wouldn’t mind just the brandy, without the grapes! ;)
I don’t have a Facebook page, so I can’t see your jacket, but I am sure whatever it is will look great!
    Best regards,
    Gloria

  6. I would think it would be yummy over vanilla ice cream, simple but elegant.

Mmmmmmmm, I would definitely love to receive those! I’ll have to think about how I could use them! Although, at the bottom of a glass of bubbly sounds like a winner to me!

    Hi, Sweetie Pie!

I am finally up for air after what seems like an eternity, and my nursing duties are about done. WHEW! So I wanted to drop by and see what you’ve been up to, and it looks like a lot. I always love your clever ideas.

Sending hugs to you and Oliver. I hope to be blogging again in a week or so.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

G’morn, my special friend! Bunny, your bottles & spirits are inviting.

Oh, I can see a happy pumpkin day ahead … we will be doing this in the next week or two also. Give my Master Oliver a big hug for me. I’ll write him soon. Tell him I send my love & to pick out a H U G E pumpkin.

We finally finished both house constructions & took off for 2 weeks. I apologize not having been with you lately, but will be better now.

    Hi Bunny,

I was thinking about the boozy grapes this morning and I came up with a couple of ideas:

    1. Simmer/reduce until thick and use as a condiment and plate garnish for savory meat dishes (pork or beef). I really think the combination would be good with rosemary in particular.

    2. Use as a topping/garnish/filling to dress up “adult” cupcakes. I tried a PB&J treat from my local gourmet cupcake shop this weekend and it immediately made me think about these grapes. Wouldn’t they be a cute addition to a dessert display?

    3. Lastly, I thought of the boozy grapes as a cheesecake, angel food or shortcake topping. Yum!

Have a great day and stay fabulous!

    Candice ;-)

    Candice,
I love this!! Every recipe and idea sounds delish!! I am loving the idea of topping the Cheesecake with the grapes and boiling them down will indeed make them thick and syrupy. As a matter of fact I am going to give your idea a try as soon as my grapes are ready!! ( I need your link or info so I can stop by and thank you for the great ideas)
    xx

Those grapes are gorgeous. My parents have a grape vine over their deck…I miss it. Home grown grapes are the best!! We were in your area over the weekend(Chester festival) Your area is even more gorgeous this time of year…Oh, how we’d like to move there(too long of a commute!). :)
