I am loving the ‘Tasting Party’ collection  from Pier 1 Imports. Not only are they simply chic in their design, absolutely useful and practical, they are also incredibly affordable. They fit in perfectly here at The Paris House with many of our other dishes and accessories.DSCN5473

We have a delicious little Thai Restaurant near our home that I called up last minute a few days ago to order a few items for lunch.  A couple friends stopped by for an early ‘Happy Hour’.  I whipped up Fresh delicious Pina Coladas and put out a few of these yummy tastings and we had ourselves one heck of a good happy hour.

I love the casual simplicity of the white dishes against the bare rustic antique English gateleg table.  No need to embellish here. Simple, fresh, delicious and ‘artfully’ displayed.

I love spur of the moment get togethers.  I always have a well stocked bar, bet you thought I was gonna say a well stocked pantry, LOL, those of you who know me, know I love my cocktails, like big time!!  Seriously though, my point here is with a little thought you can have something yummy to eat and drink but more importantly you can have a fun time with your family and friends.

These coconut glasses are stored in huge bins up in our 3rd floor ‘prop room’, but they have been down in the kitchen bar all Summer long being put to good use.  The straw and glass tray is so much fun, its huge and has such a great style presence when put out on the table filled with cocktails.  It reminds me of my travels to Kiribati in the South Pacific.  If you read my Magdalena stories you are familiar with my fascination with Christmas Island and Kiribati! The tray was purchased a few years ago at Vivre.

Later when Mr. Bunny came home we made these quick grilled eggplant pizzas with tomatoes from our garden that we topped with fontina cheese.  The pizza crust is organic from Whole Foods, when I make my own dough I always use Chez Panisse recipe, It is my favorite ever.

Please visit Tablescape Thursdays for more great table setting ideas, the lovely Gollum at Foodie Friday for more delicious recipes and lenorenevermore for more ideas using tasting spoons, her blog is fabulous.

Have a delicious Day

I just saw these tasting dishes this morning and thought they were a wonderful idea! You put them to such good use. We love making our own pizza too. It always seems to taste good no matter what we top it with.

  2. Great tasting set. I like it that they are in white, it looks good with everything. I only use white dishes because I think they really make the food the subject.
