Happy Easter
Growing up in our Italian and English family I was so blessed to have the most magical fairytale- like Easter complete with sweet treats and a glazed ham cooked to perfection.
My entire family gathered together during Holy Week. We started on Palm Sunday and spent a week going to church, visiting with family and friends and course cooking, baking and decorating the most enchanting Easter Baskets you can imagine.
We always wore a corsage. It is old fashioned and so sweet. Oliver’s will have the sweetest most delicate little velvet rabbit tucked into his flower which will be pinned on his Easter outfit.
I carry on many of these traditions with my family each Easter.
Our tablesetting inspiration is based on the wonder of being a small child. I kept everything at a child’s height at the table, so they would feel a part of a magic Easter forest. Our table is over the top and filled with bunnies, treats, moss and rabbit plates.
We decorate each of our baskets in a unique way filling them with treats, old fashioned toys, storybooks and stuffed animals. We also wrap lovely gifts for our guests to take home. I want the grown-ups to feel the beauty of this spiritual time of the year as well as the children.
Before church the kids open their Easter baskets. When we return from church we enjoy appetizers and cocktails while gathering everyone for an Easter egg hunt in our gardens complete with real bunnies. We follow up with a delicious dinner and homemade baked treats.
Menu:
Mimosas
Bloody Mary’s
Easter Bread with a lemon icing
Ham cheese pie ( recipe)
Italian Sweet Ricotta Pie with strawberries and whipped cream
Asparagus cheese quiche
Baked glazed Vermont Ham
Sweet potatoes
roasted herbed carrots
Southern Cheese Grits
Coconut Bunny Cake
cupcakes
From our home to yours, We wish you all the blessings that this sacred time of the year overflows with.

Have a brilliant Easter Bunny
I just eat a few chocolate eggs and be decadent …lol No idea how you keep up this effort all the time…:) but well done….
Hi Bunny, I just loved reading this post and seeing all those photos of the most wonderful images! Traditions are so important to have experienced and still continue in our own families – it’s so nice to hear that you have continued so many of them, I especially love the tradition of the corsages, how elegant! My daughter is 27 but I have an Easter basket put together for her, so far I’ve got a gift card and some delicious candy – I’ll have to add more over the next few days – and it’s in the first Easter basket she ever had (some things just have to be saved, right?)!
Have a blessed, happy and fun-filled Easter holiday! Ciao, bella!

Oh my gosh, your home looks absolutely beautiful. I so adore those bunny dishes (green) oh my gosh they are just exquisite. The rabbits in the little green house is the cutest darn thing I have ever seen. I love it. Who would have thought. Your rabbits are so beautiful on your table and those baskets are the most elegant looking baskets I have ever seen. My gosh, my eyes lit up, I can only imagine what Oliver’s did when he saw them too. They are just beautiful sweetie.
Your food looks so scrumptous. That ham is TDF. Love it. The sweet potatoes, oh my gosh. I love that strawberry pie. One slice to go please. Love it. What a beautiful setting you have put together.
I love it that you have combined traditions and get your Italian heritage alive for Oliver. That is just wonderful, because he needs to grow up with both worlds.
I can’t wait to see Oliver all dressed in his Easter clothing. He is such a handsome little guy.
Thank you for sharing Bunny. It is about 2 weeks out, and I will board that plane to come visit everyone. I can hardly wait to meet you, and I understand your sweet Moma is coming too.
