Hangin with Billy Bullseye~ Fashion, Food, Fun

November 8th, 2009

First of all   I want to thank each and everyone of you for all the heart felt beautiful comments.  A year ago ‘Blogging’ was the farthest thing from my mind, and now I truly can’t imagine my life without all of you in it.   We miss Maggie so much and having so much support through emails, phone calls, and my blog helped ease the pain.  All of you who commented are animal lovers and can completely understand our sorrow.   It is just so amazing how much our beloved pets who are such a part of our family love us. That unconditional love is so beautiful and precious.  We will miss her forever.

Fall 200912

Most of my week was spent at home with my family, trying my best to ease my son Sam’s sorrow.  I had a gift show that I did Thursday evening as I had committed to it a month ago.  It was good to get out a bit.  I am also keeping busy with a party I’m planning for a client now. However,  Friday evening was the highlight.  I got invited to hang out with guys over at my friend Dorkalicious’s house. ( I don’t know if I can call him this anymore, he finally let me take a picture of him without wearing his sunglasses!! and I get to post it!!) .

So this is what guys do:

1) They drink beer

2) They Say inappropriate words

3) They smoke (some of them)

4) They Talk about girls ( some of them)

5) Play Darts

I think I’m a cool girl who can hang with the boys and not be a problem at all.  I even played darts and plan to keep practicing so I can eventually not hit the wall!!!   ‘D’ and I were partners and we won, thanks to him!!

So my friend is single and I’m always trying to fix him up, but the girl ( don’t take offense to the word ‘girl’ I call 90 year olds girls, I just like it ) must be fun, cool, and of course attractive.  I want him to be happy but not at my expense.  Meaning he is one of my best friends and I’m not losing him to some wench, so only cool girls are allowed!!

So boys thanks for the fun evening, and letting me post about it.  Remember what happens at ‘D’’s house stays at ‘D’’s house, its not like I have a blog or anything!!!

I hope they realize I’m coming back next Friday :)

Now To keep my female, non dart-playing readers entertained I’ll add a little segment on ‘What I Wore to Boys Night Out’ and ‘What I brought to Boys Night Out…delicious bonbon’s!!!

These Bonbon’s taste like the best homemade version of an Almond Joy you have ever tasted, they are super easy and everyone loves them.

get the recipe here.

( A Bunny tip, I use salted butter in this recipe in place of unsalted, I prefer the salty sweet flavor)

I would like to thank the sweet Julie Marie of Idyllhoursand the lovely Koralee of Bluebird Notes for the the lovely card and notes they sent me in the mail.  They look  so pretty in this basket, which sits on the table in my craft room.  Thank you ladies!!

ps  ( I received a lot of emails regarding the pumpkin cheese ball I did for Halloween, the link is on my Salem post and will take you directly to my recipe, which by the way is just perfect for a Thanksgiving cheese tray.   I am also getting emails regarding an YSL handbag that is featured in one of my photo shoots,  it isn’t vintage, I purchased it in Manhattan about a year ago.  I can help you hunt it down, if you can’t find it)

Its good to be back and I am looking forward to visiting all of your blogs this week.

  7. Thank you so much for checking on me. I am hanginig in there! It helps that my show is Thursday, and I’m still sewing like crazy…. nothing like a distraction from reality!!
Man, it sounds like I would be just perfect for the Dorkalicious!!! I’ve always wanted to live in New York and how much fun to get to hang out with you guys, but bummer, I’ve already got the Mister!!

Oliver looks sooooooo cute! What a great costume! I hope he got tons of candy! I think I am going to make the Pumpkin Cheese ball for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing it.

  8. How much fun to get a peak into your Boyz night! Your outfit seem just the right thing. Skinny jeans and those rockin’ boots. A shirt with a vintage style, not too much but just a lil’ (I say not too much since the boyz consider too much really foolish and we gals are nothing but fools). That recipe is to die for… I also prefer sweet-salty flavors. Here in France especially in the region of Brittany they like salted butter in everything… crepes, sponge cakes and sugar cookies.

  9. Hi Sweetie! I am so glad you have been keeping yourself busy and were able to have a fun weekend. It sounds like a blast!! Those bonbons look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almond Joys Rule!! Thank you for sharing the recipe also! Oliver is sooooooo cute and I adore his costume!! To cute for words!!
    Love to you sweetie,
    Amy

The food…the fashion….always fabulous. Pictures of Oliver….always adorable!
    Hugs,
    Mimi

  11. Its great that you got out a bit! And with good, crazy friends to make you smile! Adorable pics!

  12. Cute boots! !

Bunny, I did you do a post at one point w/ a picture of a t-shirt that said ‘west hartford townie’ on it??? It was an xs and very tiny, chocolate brown. I found it at a tiny little store in the town square of West Hartford, CT. The store had everything (I can’t recall the name) and alot of cute CT stuff. Will you be in West Hartford anytime soon?

  13. Kristin says:

If it tastes remotely like an Almond Joy, I’m all over it!

  14. koralee says:

Bunny…you are such a sweetheart…thank you for all the well wishes you have sent me! I wish I could take you up on that cup of tea and scones. Also thanks a million for brightening my day today by showing me where my little bluebird note is in your home. You always amaze me with your kindness and your loving spirit! I love your cozy home everything always looks so lovely. Your Oliver made a very handsome Tinman indeed! 15. Hi Sweet Friend!

I’ve thought about you so many times since hearing about Maggie and I’m glad that the support your received offered you some comfort

I hang out with guys all the time and I must admit, I’m pretty darn good at darts too! Hope your friend finds himself a lovely girl!

    Oliver is so stinkin cute!

Aren’t Julie and Koralee the best?! I just adore both of them. Speaking of that, I truly adore you Bunny! You are such a vibrant and full of life girl who knows how to live life! I’m so thankful that I’ve gotten to know you. I would love to meet you in person one day and being the planner you are, we really need to collaborate and organize a blogger pal get together. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?! Perhaps this summer.

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and boy did you put it all into perspective for me.

    Love you girly!!
