I must must must have this owl sweater, did I mention I must have it! I’m 44 and still dressing 12!! But I’m so very Happy this way!!!
The Washington County Fair Upstate New York. The Vivid colors are dazzling.
The Washington Fair is situated on the border of Vermont in upstate New York about 1 hour north of Albany, between Greenwich and Schulyerville. This is a very historic part of the state as well as a very beautiful one. Along these quiet and quaint country roads one can find many things of interest in addition to this colorful fun fair. There are tag sales a plenty, homemade maple syrup stands set up on the side of the road, antiques everywhere and often can be found at very reasonable prices. This is a town where everyone says “Hi” and stops to let you cross the street safely, they offer directions and help with a smile on their face. I love it there. There are so many little shops that I browse in, bringing back little items for gifts, for our home and for my boutique. But the thing I always bring back are the memories and often an extra 5 lbs from all that creamy homemade fudge. Sweet treats of all kinds are my weakness they can be found everywhere in this lovely area.
I love watching my children enjoy places that I grew up enjoying and spending so much of my childhood at. Remember I am a country girl from upstate NY, these are the things we did and they were affordable ,old fashioned fun times.
I am mesmerized by the colors against the brilliant blue sky, it really is a feast for the eyes. As everything is if you take the time to look, think and dream. When I am here I think of a Kate Spade ad campaign filled with glorious eye candy of treats and baubles..oh how fun and how I would love to style that shot for them.
Ollie won a goldfish and named her Laura…Laura didn’t live very long, the boys told her she went for a walk??? I think he believed them, luckily we have a little farm of animals at home to amuse him.
Good old Funnel Cakes, fortunately I don’t really like fried foods or that 5lbs I mentioned above would easily turn into an extra 10lbs

The Fair is over a Century old and has hundreds of rides, food vendors, games, exhibits, 4H, farm museums, animals, and oh did I mention HOMEMADE MAPLE SPUN SUGAR COTTON CANDY!! It is so Fabulous, when you walk into the Maple Sugar building, the sugar sweet smell is better than any fancy candy store I have ever been in. Unlike sickeningly sweet regular old cotton candy this is delightful.
The Washington County Fair has more rides and animals than anywhere else, at least that’s their story and we are sticking to it!!

I love these outfits and would wear everyone (I still dress much younger as well, but hey, everyone thinks I am much younger!) Can't wait to hear about the fair, it look like so much fun.

Oh Bunny, that was sooo much fun! I love County Fairs, especially one that looks as old fashioned as that one and has happy memories for you… your kids are precious and I am sure they had a ball… cotton candy, games, rides… brings back happy memories for me too! I love seeing all of the animals of course and know that those people really do take good care of them… I feel like I was at the fair with you! Sounds like you grew up in a very wonderful place! We want our kids to experience all the good times we had as children. Just love a good old hometown fair! For me it's memories of Doughboys and cotton candy too.

Oh my goodness – maple sugar cotton candy, I can only dream! Love the comparison of the fair with Kate Spades new line. Oddly enough I was peering into a Kate Spade window yesterday @ the Galleria here in Houston. I think I left drool on the floor D: Your Ollie is so adorable. Love how the boys said the fish went for a walk ~ priceless..
