Apple Blossom Honey Bee Sting Pound Cake (The Farmer’s Market)
September 2nd, 2009
THE APPLE BLOSSOM HONEY BEE STING POUND CAKE
THERE WERE BUCKETS AND BUCKETS OF BEAUTIFUL FRESH CUT FLOWERS
I BROUGHT HOME A BOUQUET TO DRY AND HANG FROM THE OLD HAND HEWN BEAMS IN OUR FARMHOUSE
The Market smelled like pure goodness, the buckets of basil filled the air as did the freshly brewed local coffee and home baked breads. One minute it was the perfume of freshly cut flowers and then apple cider and fresh baked berry turnovers topped with a sugar glaze. Turn the corner and the Asian food was filling the air with hints of fresh cilantro and the nearby flavors of local wines, honey and bees wax candles. We spent hours at the market.

THESE BEETS ARE AS GORGEOUS AS A JEWEL TO ME
A BOUQUET PERFECT FOR DRYING

STOP BY AND LISTEN TO SOME MUSIC WHILE YOU WINE TASTE OR ENJOY SOME COFFEE

WE ENJOYED SOME OF THE MOST DELICIOUS ASIAN FOOD EVER..AND I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. I AM GOING BACK HERE SO I CAN EAT HERE AGAIN.

TASTING HOMEMADE BLUEBERRY VINEGAR. FANTASTIC..CAN’T WAIT TO MAKE SALAD DRESSINGS AND MARINADES WITH IT.

COMING HOME AND MAKING A CAKE

TRYING NOT TO EAT THE ENTIRE CAKE MYSELF

TAKING MORE PICTURES OF MY PRETTY CAKE

THE RECIPE:
APPLE BLOSSOM HONEY BEE STING POUND CAKE:
The Paris House added apple blossom honey and then made a basic lemon icing.
PLEASE VISIT YOUR LOCAL FARMS AND MARKETS AND TRY TO EAT RESPONSIBLY, AND BY THAT I’M NOT TALKING CALORIES, JUST FOODS THAT ARE GROWN WITH LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE EARTH AND THE PEOPLE WHO EAT THEM.
XOXO
Bunny
tomorrow we are going to the wine trail and checking out some new hard ciders, local beauty and our boutique and local fairs.

Cake looks delicious and photos from your trip are so fun to look..
Hello Bunny, that cake looks fantastic! And I love the flowers you are going to dry, especially the Cockscomb and Statice… everything is lovely…I wish you would show more photos of your 200 year old home, pretty please… Bisous… Julie Marie
How great! Everything looks so wonderful and so much fun! I love buying from local farmers, they seem to always know the very best way to prepare the food.
I love the Farmer's Market and the tour through yours was amazing! Nothing better than fresh fruits and vegetables and the smell of fresh cut flowers and I want to devour that cake!
It is always such a treat to visit with you, I just love your home and how passionate you are about everything…I just adore you!!!
I'm officially volunteering to help you eat that cake, I love pound cake and yours, hands down, is the cutest I've ever seen!
Love, love, love the types of Farmer's Markets you took us to today. When I live in California, this is what they were like. Here in my area they are pathetic, simply pathetic.
Love the MacKensie Child's post, including the article about their showboat. You gave me some great ideas, I have an armoire similar to the one in the photo (not painted or anything) and I need to repurpose it now that it no longer holds a TV. Thanks!
oh, this all looks so beautiful and delicious! you are kicking me in the pants to get to my local farmer's market…stat!
This is truly an art. You have presented such a lovely place to visit. Have you posted this on the Half Hour Meals site yet?
