Fun and Games

August 17th, 2009

After cocktails under the pergola please Join us in the tent. There is a wonderful view of our formal rose garden from here….Our old farmhouse hosts a lot of fun parties….

The evening sky, fireflies, lots of candles and outdoor flickering lights add to the magic…
Enchanted Gardens in the evening

I think you can tell I really like it out here…

Whats a party without food. We had a variety of different foods. I was at our Farmers Market and couldn’t resist the purple broccoli paired with all the glorious green asparagus and veggies…Now I need do something with this that is quick and easy….Paris House Style….

I have Fontina cheese and some Mozzarella cheese. I just quickly sauteed these beautiful and colorful vegetables in olive oil with some salt and pepper. I used ready made pizza shells. I love to make homemade pizza dough, but there was no time for that. Maybe in a perfect world, but I live in Bunnyland, not a perfect world, but a busy busy one!! Add some pizza sauce, herbs de Pizza top with veggies and cheese and bake until golden and bubbly. ( I usually brush the crust with olive oil and rub garlic over the oil to flavor it) Easy, Fresh and Delicious….

I always pay attention to the guest bathroom or the bathroom that will be used a lot during my parties.

I have huge baskets filled with samples from my travels and cosmetics that I buy locally in Manhattan. I keep little Wedgwood bowls filled with perfumes, soaps and other items that my guests may want to use. Who knows there may be some hot guy at the party and they want to put on some sexy perfume!!

This bathroom is probably one of my most romantic rooms, if a bathroom can be considered romantic….It has an antique clawfoot tub and antique furniture and items from Venice and France that I bought on buying trips for my company….

On the other side of the room I have large white Casablanca Lillie’s in very modern vases…
Life isn’t all Fun and Games…but sometimes it is….
Lets get back to the party shall we….

Having cocktails under the Pergola before nightfall….The food buffet is only steps away in our Garden Room….The children are in the pool with the adults and others are in our gardens cutting beautiful bouquets of flowers with their daughters to take home….. Very late night fun….When only a few of us are left….

I think “K” found that flower in my garden….

The Love of My Life !! He is sweet, gorgeous, OMG…I love him more and more each year that passes. My husband just turned 45 and he is cute as can be. OK, can you tell I’m madly in love with this man :)…..
Where did this blue cooler come from and what is in it?????? Don’t these boys know I have silver ice buckets to keep things chilled!!!!

Chilling with the fireflies. The best thing about my parties is how relaxed everyone is. I enjoy myself and that is very important. A stressed out hostess is no fun to be around. That is why I keep it simple. I want people to leave happy more than impressed….I have no time for Perfection…I love being perfectly Imperfect….

Dorkalicious certainly seems happy..

People run and hide because they know I’m going to plaster their picture all over the web. My Sweetheart has had enough pictures taken for now!!!
