Some Bunny is dreaming of Fall Fashions

I adore Fall Fashions….Tory Burch Fall 2009

Gotta get myself some great gloves as a tribute to Michael Jackson…. I’m loving the pair in the top middle picture…JCrew

I love the Summer and hope it never ends so I can have all of my children home with me and just enjoy the carefree fun of summertime. I love the ease of getting dressed, not having to worry about boots, hats, gloves and all those layers, yes I am loving this time of the year. Even so as a Virgo ( we are known to be a bit compulsive when it comes to planning!!!) combined with my professional business as a party planner/designer and writer I can’t help but to start thinking about the Fall, from the fashions to how I will be styling upcoming events and photo shoots we have planned, I live in the moment but while planning and thinking about the next season, that’s why I am thrilled to share some of these great Fall fashions from a few of my favorites. I adore Jcrew, Tory Burch and “dream” of wearing some of these Gucci and Louis Vuitton pieces. I think the Jcrew coat pictured above is so unique and pretty. I could find many places to wear that this Fall.

I love this faux fur vest (or at least I believe it is faux???) I would wear it over a camel or black turtleneck with camel wool pants, jeans or wide leg black wool pants. I like the blouse, but for me it would be too much going on, I’m more classic with a twist. but I love the look. Jcrew fall 2009

This is so me and the great part is I already have these items somewhere in my closet. I have an old Lacoste top identical to this one and last year I purchased camel wool wide leg pants on sale at Jcrew, I have a very similar belt that I have had for over a decade. Now I can have this look without spending another penny. If you buy classic styles and take care of them they will last for years!!

This has Bunny written all over it!! I will wear it everywhere, from trips with my kids into Manhattan, to dinner with Josh…it is so versatile. Pair it with a black, purple or beige cashmere, cotton or wool cardigan sweaters on chilly nights or when you want to cover your shoulders and arms. I think this would be lovely with the camel wool pants I mentioned above while wine tasting in the late summer early Autumn months, just throw that cardigan sweater into a chic tote and you are all set for the evening chill.

OK , I have been hunting for this dress and so far unsuccessfully!! It is from Haute Hippie…Please if someone finds this please let me know. I want to wear it at a cocktail party I’m hosting. This is so chic, easy and effortless but with such an impact of great style. Love it…Haute Hippie The red coat is so cute and cheery..You really can’t see the black boots with the buckles on the left but I am obsessing over them…Tory Burch Fall 2009.

( the picture I am referring to here is now at the top of this post…seems to have mysteriously jumped up there on its own)

The outfit on the right is a fitted leather top with a gorgeous black skirt. This is something you can wear out to dinner in Venice Italy, to the ballet in the evening this fall in Manhattan, for drinks with the girls, to a stylish business meeting, depending on what you do, I’m a designer so this would be great!!

I really wish the picture on the left were clearer, my scanner is an embarrassment or maybe it is just my scanning capabilities that are so lame. However this Navy wool dress with the tiniest hint of red on the front belt is so sweet. You can make it a bit more interesting with those black buckle belts I mentioned above. This would be great having coffee at my favorite bookstore in Manchester Vermont, or at a business luncheon/meeting, its classic and will be in style for years.

The designer, Tory Burch is the blond featured in the left photo shoot. She just nails it almost every time. I think she knows what women want and what works for women from their 20′s on up. You can keep her designs classic and elegant or you can accessorize them to make them more funky and young. I’m in my early 40′s and wear whatever I like, but I do lean towards a more classic preppy chic look that’s a little sexy!!

I love the Gucci boots in the bottom left photo, they are very expensive so I am on the lookout for a much more affordable pair. I have three kids and between braces, school and bills I have to be realistic!! I certainly can’t have all of these items but I can do the following:
1) First I shop my closet to see what I already have that is similar to the items on my wish list
2) I cut out the items I want or those I feel I “need” and put them in a folder. I get what I can and then shop for the look for less, meaning similar items that cost a fraction of the price
3) I invest in quality classic styles, such as a great hand bag
4) I call the store and ask for them to let me know when it goes on sale and if I can I will buy it then
5) Often before I buy something if I wait a while and think about it I realize that I don’t really love it or need it and other times when I just can’t stop thinking about it I know it is something worth purchasing that I will wear for years to come
6) fads and trends can certainly freshen up a look and be fun, just don’t get caught up in them and spend a lot on something that will be dated in 6 months. Plus you don’t want to look like everyone else out there, be true to your own style, body shape and budget!!

Ohhh, now you have ME dreaming of fall fashions. I love your picks. The striped top/camel pants….the strapless blue with the camel belt. I'm way too short for those long dresses….but love them!

Pleeeeaaase, don't rush me, my sister Virgo! Down here in the heat, we don't begin to think of Fall Fashion until November!!! That's why you will hear me B—h when I can't find anything I like when the time comes!!!! LOL-but the truth. I see a lot of Ralph Lauren influence in this collection, and I love it! My favorite is the dress with "Bunny written all over it". Great stuff. Smiles-KIM
