I Heart the Mountains, Bolton Landing New York

July 16th, 2009
Bolton Landing Is just North of Lake George Village in Upstate New York. Its beauty is just divine. Unlike the hustle and bustle touristy Lake George, Bolton Landing is more refined, quiet and elegant.

Don’t worry if good times, bars, dancing, nightlife and a lot of excitement are what you are after then head back down to Lake George village. Its all there waiting for you.

I have Not done this yet and I’m not sure why..although I am terrified of heights I fly a lot and have soared hundreds and hundreds of feet above the canopy and trees on zip lines in Costa Rica with my family and loved it. This looks so pretty, maybe one of these days. You can find these very safe and reputable companies all over Lake George to safely take you UP UP and AWAY.

I don’t know about you, but give me a couple cocktails and someone singing and playing the guitar and I am one happy Lady. Add the water and a beautiful view and I may never leave.

It is so calm, tranquil and pretty. And only 4 – 5 hours from my home in New Jersey.

It always seems to look like this at night fall.

This is a little picture of one of the many museums in Lake George. This is Fort William Henry and they do many fun things for children. Such as Ghost Tours
archaeological games, and daily reenactments.

Don’t miss The Great Escape, especially if you are travelling with kids and even if you are not. There are so many crazy fun rides for all ages and the sweetest little children’s storybook section that is magical. They have pizza and various foods and snacks.

Here she is the Grand Dame of Bolton Landing…The Sagamore Resort. I remember being a child and dreaming of staying here one day. My husband and I have been with our family several times and it is just as lovely as I had dreamed it would be when I was a child. Its very exciting in the summer watching some of the horse owners fly in and land their planes near by and come in for cocktails on the Veranda. It just had a complete overhaul. I have not heard any reviews yet.. I just hope they didn’t take away its Majestic old world feel.

Be sure to take a boat ride around this spectacular lake

My boys a few years ago when Oliver was born. The Minnie Ha Ha is a fun boat to tour the lake on. There are also many dinner cruises that set sail nightly.
( I’m looking at Oliver sleeping away so peacefully in his stroller, with his little feet hanging out, oh how fast the years go by.. ) Can you safely have a baby at age 43??? Forget I just asked that….I need to let it go and move on, but oh I wish I could have one more. I love being a mom more than anything in the World. (that and being married to my sweetheart)

This picture is from 1991 as you can see marked on the photo. I am becoming obsessed with my scanner and have learned how to enlarge my pics. I am thrilled how clear they came out.

*** I THOUGHT I had successfully enlarged all my pics BUT when I published this post they went back to the regular size (in the preview format they were huge and beautiful…I think it has something to do with the text and my margins…I would greatly appreciate any help you may have on fixing this!!! thanks)

This was a few years ago, Josh just got me this sweet little puppy, our new “baby” little did I know there was a “real” baby growing away in my tummy!! Olly was my 40th birthday present!! I was wondering why I was tired and eating a ton of chocolate cookies…..little did I know

Another try at the scanner, using old (18 year old) pictures of Lake George

Another great tour. You missed your calling…you should have been a tour guide! Haha! That Inn reminds me of the one in the movie "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeves.
