Our kitchen is one part French, one part English, One part eclectic. It adds up to one beautiful room. It is filled with antiques, lots of fresh flowers and home baked treats. I really can’t remember the last time we didn’t have fresh flowers all over the kitchen and something yummy straight from the oven. (even it is brownies from the box, if that is all the time I have then so be it, it is still made with lots of love for my family) There are always candles burning, Dyptique, Yankee Candle, Jo Malone, Laura Mercier and Guerlain (Venice) are my favorites. One wall is a massive 200 year old stone wall, we have old terra cota floors and a large English gateleg table that is as much fun to eat at as to play go fish at. There are chairs everywhere and a settee to lie on and watch TV, a fireplace is near by and lit all winter long. I have piles of cookbooks on my kitchen desk, there is a bar filled with chic modern accessories. We also have a 200 year old baking table that my four year old has claimed as his own. Wine is a given and it flows everynight into beautiful glasses that I have collected for many years. The best are those passed down from my English grandmother, Margaret. The best part of my kitchen is that my family, friends and pets hang out in there for hours, eating, drinking, laughing, listening to music, watching TV, studying, blogging and living a beautiful life.
This is what makes us happy in our kitchen.. tell me about your kitchen. Do you have your dream kitchen if so what is it like, if not what will it be like one day?
