Oliver’s 4th birthday was a lovely Circus theme party complete with a homemade Clown cake that I loved making, front row seats at The Lion King, a magical lunch at Sweetiepies in the Village, a pizza party, and a trip to the Giggleberry Fair in Pennsylvania. If that wasn’t enough fun, his Grandparents gave him a Bunny for his birthday that believe it or not is actually called a Lion Bunny and it looks like a little Lion!! Olly named him Simba!!! Our table setting was an old fashioned Circus theme with lots of popcorn, pizza and treats. This was truly a magical birthday party that we haven’t stopped talking about.
I enjoyed a delicious cocktail at Sweetiepies restaurant in NYC, here is the recipe, feel free to substitute a Shirley Temple for your little “Sweetiepies”
Champagne
a splash of Germaine Elderflower
a splash of Pomegranate juice for color

Hi Michele,
What a wondeful clown cake! How did you make it? What did you use to make the construction??? I have to make all my cakes, because my son is allergic to eggs and milk, I am very curious!!!
Hi Annick
Yes, I made it. but it does have eggs in it. the construction was just the pound cake, twinkies for the feet, marshmallow/hands, rice krispie treats for the arms and legs, the hat was a sugar ice cream cone, lots of icing that I died and candies, I used dowels and toothpicks for support
