The Paris House used cabbage leaf placemats topped them with green toile bunny plates with blue bowls with ducks on top. We used a mix of farm animal wooden napkin ring holders around the large oval antique English gateleg table. Our stemware of choice blue and green spring glasses to pull the blue and green plates together. We chose not to use a tablecloth so we could showcase the beautiful wood finish on the antique table to bring together the rustic feel of the farm animals and antique table. This feels like Spring and sunshine even on a rainy day like today!! Try and create something springlike and festive for your family to enjoy. Build your collection one piece at a time. Searching tag sales, antique fairs, discount chains, high end store, Macy’s etc. These pieces you see have evolved over around 20 years. The placemats were purchased 2 weeks ago at only $5 a piece. I think the entire experience of a well appointed beautiful, or simply elegant table (whatever look you are going for) heightens the dining experience. You could eat take out chinese food on this place setting and it would taste delicious ( and I don’t say that often , as I am not the biggest fan of takeout Chinese food)
