I went to the farmers market on a quest for a delicious dinner , I had no idea what I was in the mood for. I passed by some freshly picked strawberries and their sweet perfume made me do a double take. I didn’t even know how much I was missing fresh strawberries, but they are unmistakeably different than the ones being flown thousands of miles to get in my refrigertaor. I picked these up along with some blackberries. I turned around and there were some beautiful looking crepes from France, and even more beautiful they were already prepared, saving me time for making dinner, enjoying the Florida sun and most importantly spending my time with my family. Ok, now I have the Crepes, the Magnificent berries, and yes, berries in season are magnificent. Now it is off to the international cheese section for my beloved mascarpone cheese. I put this dessert together in about 10 minutes. I whipped the mascarpone with a little heavy cream, vanilla, and sugar, layered over the crepes and topped them with a confiture and cassis reduction with the berries added to the hot syrup making them burst and their sweet juice flow into my cassis mixture. It was a ten, just perfectly delicious and perfectly easy. Justj like a gardener listens to the rhythym of the season, let your market tell you what to make for dinner that night , it will serve you right.
